We welcome the new National Planning Policy Framework announced today by Ministry of Housing, Communities & Local Government which underlines the government's commitment to building 1.5 million new homes, driving economic growth, and tackling the housing crisis.

Delivering on that commitment will need local government, central government and the housebuilding industry to work together constructively over the months and years ahead.

Planning positively to increase housing numbers across the country is a key first step, alongside increased resource in our planning system and measures to make it easier to deliver homes on brownfield land and grey belt.
