Following on from the HBF and MHCLG's joint statement about the importance of the construction sector remaining open to the economy, the Secretary of State for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy, Alok Sharma, has issued a letter to those working in the sector to thank them for their 'invaluable contribution in supporting the economy.'
It's positive that Government continues to recognise the significance of the construction sector to our economy and have supported the industry by permitting housing activity while the country has faced a range of different measures to help prevent the spread of coronavirus. After implementing COVID-secure measures across our business, which have been certified by the British Safety Council, colleagues and contractors have played their part to keep the housing market moving by ensuring that building and repairing homes can continue safely during this period as well as the sales process.
It's now more important than ever that our teams across the business continue to adhere to our policies and procedures to help keep colleagues, customers, suppliers and sub-contractors safe. We all need to ensure that we're following the guidance to stay safe and help control the virus, and we're proud of how our teams across the business are adapting to these new measures while still ensuring the high-quality in build and customer care which sets us apart from our competitors.
